food for the heart

Usually, I'll put some sort of comment on the passages of scripture I quote. But this time I'm just going to post it like this. I pray that God will use it to somehow minister in your life!

Daniel 4:10-34
010: Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold, a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great.
011: The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:
012: The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.
013: I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;
014: He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:
015: Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:
016: Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given unto him: and let seven times pass over him.
017: This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.
018: This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.
019: Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.
020: The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth;
021: Whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation:
022: It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.
023: And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;
024: This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king:
025: That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
026: And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule.
027: Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.
028: All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.
029: At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.
030: The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?
031: While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.
032: And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
033: The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.
034: And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:
035: And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?
036: At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.
037: Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

Here I am!!!

Well, as of today I have been here nine days. It's been a great visit (though not over yet) and even through those struggles with the flesh God's still been faithful. Unfortunately, I have no pictures so, you guys will have to use you imaginations!!!
It's been a good week. My Grandpa took me golfing (which, btw, is much harder than it looks. I think my best score was a hole in 8). My arms still ache from that! I went to a fair judging with my Grandma (she is a professional weaver and is constantly being called with petions to judge at fair. She has another one this Saturday). It was a neat learning experience since they let me sit in on it. Other than that it's mostly been hanging out around the house, playing scrabble (we sit 1 to 1. I was really excited since that is the first time I'd ever played with an adult and won. My Mom usually beats me... Really badly!), reading, crocheting (I just finished the blanket I was making) and from time to time going into to town! I've begun to like the town of Girard, Kansas. Kind of a funny little place, and one you could only find if you had been there.
So, anyway, it's been fun, different and a great experience. When I get back home I'll write up about the individual days themselves. For now, however, you'll have to be content with this.

Update (very brief)

005: Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
006: For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
007: Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
008: Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
009: But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.
010: But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
011: Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

014: But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

016: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
017: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

An end to camping

That went fast. I can't believe that my week of camping has already come and gone. We visited to Grand Canyon (WOW), went fishing (well, at least my brothers and Dad did) and just had some fun as a family! I don't know where the time went!! Well anyway, I had a blast. Nothing like a week in God's creation to wake you up. The weather was perfect, (and rainy :D) though I might have been able to pass on the dryness. I mean, the skin on my arms was starting to peel it was so dry!! But no more. As of right now I'm in Kansas with my Grandparents and will be for the next two weeks. My family is staying at the campsite for one more night and will then be moving to another campsite in Tucson, AZ. It's wierd going from one extreme to another (you know, from big gang to two people). I offered to make supper for my grandparents this evening, but I told my grandma that I might have a hard time making it for so few people! My trip here was uneventful (they drove and I slept ;). There was little to no talking (can't say I'm complaining, but it can get kind of boring), but still, the trip ended and here I am. Alright, I got to go. On the road again

Well, now we're in th States again. The trip went well. We left around 3 a.m. yesterday morning and drove through without stopping. we arrived at the border at 5 p.m. and (aside from having to wait in line) we were able to get through without a hold-up. But I have to tell you, it waqs seriously hot. We had an addition to our family this trip. His name is Stephan and he came down a couple of weeks ago to help out with some projects around the house. We dropped him off at the Greyhound station last night and right now he's on his way back to Oregon. We're not at our campground yet because we stopped last night to stay at a hotel. Now we're about ready to head out, we should be there in about 6 hours. If you get on here between now and then shoot off a quick pray for our travels. Our van has been having some problems with overheating. We're not sure what's wrong, but I know God's got it all under control. Have a blessed day!!!

Hello everyone!!

Just wanted to let you guys know that we're heading out in a few hours to the States! It should be a pleasant trip, but please pray for us as our van is know to have problems. If I don't write on here for awhile you'll know why, though I really did want to write a post (or two!) about the mission team that came down. Oh well, not much I can do about it now (but I will try once we're in the States). So, if I can't get on and you guys for some reason don't hear from me that means I'm having a great vacation and God's good!! Till I write again, have a blessed Summer!!!

Prayer Requests

Hey everyone!! These are some things in my life, and the life of my family, that need prayer. If you guys would pray for these things I would appreciate it. Thank you!

• That our house in Oregon would sell. (We bought it as an investment a little over two years ago. Right before the market crashed).
• That our trip to the States would go smoothly and that God would provide according to HIS abundance.
• That God would give me more faith to believe in His promises.
• That Jessee's cut on his face would heal up quickly.
• For the new girls' class I've started and that God would give me wisdom to direct and teach these girls.
• For protection over this house while we're are gone.
• For the youth group we're trying to start in Boca del Rio.
• For the Youth Center we've been able to start building. That God would provide the funds necessary to finish.
• For another missionary family nearby that's going through some hard times.
• For our church in general.
• For the community, that God would be bringing revival to their hearts.
• That God will would be done no matter what the outcome.
• A new van for us. Our old van is experiencing lots of breakdowns and various problems.

Young Bird is no more

Sad news, my youngest little birdy died just the other day. The cat got into the cage. I'm sad, but I think that it wasn't in any pain. The other bird is lonely but unharmed.
